A very interesting Arduino project... taking this to the next level would be to create maybe a 100 x 100x 100, with small space between the LEDs, and connecting it to the Kinect depth camera, and then been able to manipulate the lights using hand gestures...
This could be turned into a painting application...
Although this is quite advanced for me to try and replicate, it opens posibilities as to what i could do with the kinect, Maybe instead of having a Wooden framework, i could just have a glass screen, ...
